From Ido/Ibarapa East to the Senate: A Blueprint of Roads, Results, and Renewed Hope for 2027 and Beyond

In Nigerian politics, noise often drowns substance. But in Oyo State, one name is being whispered in communities, council halls, and party meetings for a different reason, because things are getting done.

Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, Member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, is not running the politics of billboards. He is running the politics of blueprints.

As the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in 2027, he is offering the district something it has demanded for years but rarely received. A federal lawmaker who understands how systems work, and who is willing to work the system for the people.

Before 2023, long before the mace and the media, Dr. Remi Oseni was already in the trenches.

As an engineer and a man guided by faith, he approached community problems the way he would approach a structural defect: diagnose, design, deliver.

Across Ibarapa East and neighboring communities, he initiated and donated projects without waiting for budget cycles. Boreholes where water was scarce. Classroom blocks where children sat on floors. Medical outreaches where access was a luxury.

That period created a political currency more powerful than slogans: credibility. The people saw him build with his own hands and resources. So when he asked for their mandate in 2023, they gave it, not as a gamble, but as an investment.

Two years into the 10th National Assembly, the investment is yielding returns.

As Chairman of FERMA, Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni occupies one of the most critical oversight positions for the masses. Nigerian roads are not just asphalt; they are lifelines for farmers, traders, students, and patients.

Under his chairmanship, the Committee has pushed for three non-negotiables: transparency in project award, quality in execution, and visibility in impact. Contractors know the committee is watching. MDAs know reports will be published. Communities know someone in Abuja is asking: “Did this road reach my people?”

Back home in Ido/Ibarapa East, that national leverage has translated to federal presence. He has facilitated the attraction of federal projects into the constituency and insists on publishing project lists, a practice rare in Nigerian politics.

Why? “Because the people are shareholders in democracy,” he told a town hall in Igboora. “They must know what is being done in their name.”

For Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni, “liberation of the masses” is not a campaign slogan. It is a technical term.

Liberation means a mother in Eruwa can get to Adeoyo Hospital without her vehicle breaking down on a bad road.
Liberation means a young graduate in Ido can get mentorship and a link to opportunity, not just a handout.
Liberation means a farmer in Aiyete can move produce to Ojoo market and still make profit.

That is why his model is deliberate and different.

1. Infrastructure as Freedom: Roads, schools, health facilities. He argues that without these, no policy can succeed.

2. Integrity as Policy: Publish what you are doing. Mentor young people. Refuse politics of bitterness and blackmail.

3. Impact as Measure: Not how many press releases, but how many lives changed.

It is a quiet revolution. No drama. Just delivery.

Oyo South Senatorial District is the economic and political heartbeat of Oyo State. Ibadan, Ido, Ibarapa. Yet for too long, the district’s voice in the Senate has not matched its weight.

The APC, in nominating Hon. Remi Oseni for Oyo South 2027, is making a strategic bet: to send to the Red Chamber a man who already understands the federal bureaucracy, who already chairs a critical committee, and who already has a track record in the district.

“Oyo South needs a Senator who can walk into a ministry and get a file moving,” a party chieftain said. “Not someone who will learn on the job.”

The people agree. The logic is simple: we have seen what he did with little. Let us see what he will do with more.

Beyond Oyo, Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni has aligned himself with the national renewal agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

His argument to constituents is not partisan; it is practical. The President’s reforms are tough, but they are meant to dismantle decades of waste and rebuild the foundation.

His role, he says, is twofold: defend the vision in Abuja, and explain it in the villages. Through his support groups and constituency engagements, he has been mobilizing for the President’s re-election in 2027, not with propaganda, but with proof that the federal government can still work for the common man if the right people are in the right places.

“President Tinubu took the painful decisions so Nigeria can breathe again,” he said at a recent stakeholders’ meeting. “Our job is to ensure Oyo State and Oyo South breathe with it.”

What sets Hon. Remi Oseni apart is not just what he does, but how he does it. He does not play politics of bitterness. He mentors. He does not hide projects. He publishes them. He does not wait for government. He initiates.

In a political culture addicted to noise, he offers engineering discipline. In a season of distrust, he offers institutional integrity. In a time of need, he offers measurable impact.

That is why party leaders, religious leaders, youth groups, and market women across Oyo South are coalescing around him ahead of 2027.

2027 will not be won with slogans. It will be won with service records.

Oyo South is asking for a Senator who will bring federal presence home. Who will fix roads. Who will attract institutions. Who will legislate with competence and represent with conscience.

Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni says he is ready. God positioned him for this time. The APC has nominated him for this task. The people have tested him with little and are ready to trust him with more.

Beyond Politics. Beyond Promises. This is about Purpose.
And the purpose is clear: Infrastructure for access. Integrity for trust. Impact for the masses.

That is the Oseni Model. That is the mandate for Oyo South. That is the mandate for 2027.
