Ibadan, Oyo State – Otunba Oluseye Opatoki, governorship aspirant in Oyo State 2027 elections under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in a tragic trailer accident in Ibadan on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The accident, which occurred at Beere Junction, resulted in the deaths of at least three people and left several others injured.
In a statement, Otunba Opatoki expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as a devastating tragedy that has brought grief to the Beere community and surrounding areas. He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. “My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in this unfortunate incident. I sympathize with those who sustained injuries and pray for their quick recovery,” he said.
Otunba Oluseye Opatoki also commended the prompt response of emergency responders and security operatives at the scene, who worked tirelessly to rescue victims and restore order. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in ensuring road safety and preventing similar incidents in the future.
The PDP Guber aspirant called on all stakeholders, including drivers, regulatory agencies, and the community, to prioritize road safety and work together to prevent accidents. He stressed the need for regular maintenance of vehicles and adherence to traffic regulations to minimize the risk of accidents.
Otunba Oluseye Opatoki’s condolences were also extended to the government and people of Oyo State, and he hoped that the incident would serve as a wake-up call for all to prioritize road safety.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the Beere community and surrounding areas, with residents lamenting the recurring danger posed by heavy-duty vehicles navigating the city’s congested roads.
