In the political firmament of Oyo State, few names resonate with the same blend of competence, compassion, and commitment as Hon. (Engr.) Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, FNSE, MNSE, C.Eng.

Currently serving as the distinguished Member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Hon. Oseni is not just a lawmaker. He is an engineer, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and now the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in 2027.

He is widely described as “a man made by the grace of God”. A man who rose from humble beginnings through hard work, perseverance, and vision to become a voice for the downtrodden and a builder of infrastructure and institutions.

Education And Professional Foundation

Hon. Oseni’s journey began in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State. He attended IDC Primary School in Okuna Awo and later proceeded to Akufo High School in Ido LGA. His quest for knowledge led him to The Polytechnic, Ilaro in 1990, where he obtained a degree in Civil Engineering.

Not content with stopping there, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering with Distinction from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. To sharpen his leadership capacity, he attended executive courses in Business and Leadership at the Nigerian Institute of Management, University of Manchester; Housing Finance at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA; and Public Relations at the School of Success, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.

Professionally, Engr. Oseni is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Institute of Engineers and Technicians of Nigeria. He is also a National Youth Service Corps NYSC Award Winner.

He began his career in the Oyo State Ministry of Works, Ibadan Metropolitan Planning Authority in 1987, and later served in the Enugu State Ministry of Works and Housing. He gained private sector experience with Ace Hi-Tech Construction Company Ltd and later founded Step Development Limited in 1995, where he serves as Managing Director. He is also Group Executive Chairman of Sedabuk Oil and Gas Services Ltd and Royal Foods Ltd, with interests in logistics and FMCG.

Business, Career And Commitment To Service

With over two decades as a practicing engineer and entrepreneur, Hon. Oseni built a reputation as a visionary, diligent, honest, and innovative performer. But for him, business was never just about profit. It was about impact.

As Chairman of the House Committee on FERMA, he has brought his technical expertise to bear on one of Nigeria’s most critical needs: good roads. He consistently argues that “the importance of good roads cannot be over-emphasized” for economic growth, market access, and national integration.

Beyond roads, his legislative focus extends to improved healthcare and education. He was instrumental in efforts to establish a Federal Medical Center in Ido/Ibarapa East, and has prioritized support for market men and women, students, widows, and orphans through direct empowerment and philanthropic gestures during festive periods.

The Philosophy: People First

Hon. Remi Oseni is seen as an altruistic leader who prioritizes collective well-being over personal interests. As an orator of skills, he believes in making life better, easier, and more meaningful. This is why he is known for giving without expecting anything in return, empowering people with vocational skills and start-up capital targeted at helping the poor become self-sufficient.

His early life taught him the value of struggle. Despite an insatiable appetite for education as a child, he had to fight to acquire it. That experience shaped his resolve that no child in Oyo South should be denied opportunity because of poverty.

The Mandate: Oyo South Senatorial District 2027

As the APC flag bearer for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. (Engr.) Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni brings a unique combination to the Senate:

Technical expertise- to influence national infrastructure policy

Legislative experience- to make laws that work for the people

Grassroots connection- as a community builder and friend of youths

A record of service- that prioritizes development over rhetoric

He presents himself as a grassroots politician, a philanthropist of high repute, and a God-given leader ready to deploy his wealth, resources, experience, time, and talent to help others and create a better world.

His message to Oyo South is “Continuity of quality representation. More federal presence. More jobs. Better roads. Better healthcare. Better education”.

In Hon. (Engr.) Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, Oyo South has a candidate who is not learning on the job. He is coming with results, with experience, and with a blueprint.

From building roads as an engineer, to maintaining them as FERMA Committee Chairman, to now seeking to build lives and livelihoods as a Senator, his trajectory is clear: Service. Development. Impact.
