On the occasion of his birthday, a former People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship Aspirant in Oyo State, Otunba Oluseye Nathaniel Oladosu Opatoki, has described Professor Daud Kehinde Sangodoyin as “one of the finest public servants of our generation and a true architect of institutional progress in Oyo State.”
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki extolled the celebrant as a rare blend of scholarship, administrative dexterity, and political maturity whose contributions have left indelible footprints across multiple sectors of governance in the PaceSetter State.
According to him, Professor Sangodoyin represents the very ideal of what public service should be, knowledge-driven, people-centered, and development-focused.
“Today, we celebrate not just a man, but a legacy in motion. Professor Daud Sangodoyin is a technocrat per excellence, an academic colossus, and a political administrator whose trajectory in public office reflects purpose, competence, and patriotism,” Otunba Opatoki stated.
The former PDP Governorship aspirant recalled the Professor’s sterling stewardship across critical ministries, noting that his tenure has been marked by policy clarity, infrastructural vision, and a deep commitment to the people of Oyo State.
“From Education, Science and Technology where he laid foundations for academic reform, to Establishment and Training where he re-engineered the civil service, to Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport where he drove the physical transformation of our state, and now to Energy and Mineral Resources where he is charting a new course for power and economic independence, Prof. Sangodoyin has proven that governance is best delivered by those who combine intellect with action,” he said.
Otunba Oluseye Opatoki further commended the celebrant for his current role as the Acting Chairman of the Oyo State Electricity Regulatory Commission, OYSERC, describing it as a testament to the trust reposed in him by the state government to midwife a new energy order for Oyo.
“At a time when energy is the oxygen of development, the appointment of Prof. Sangodoyin to lead OYSERC is both strategic and symbolic. It tells us that Oyo State is serious about industrialization, about stable power, and about creating an enabling environment for investors and our people,” Otunba Opatoki noted.
He added that beyond the offices and titles, Professor Sangodoyin’s greatest asset remains his humility, his accessibility, and his unwavering loyalty to the ideals of good governance under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE.
“As we mark this day, I join millions of well-wishers across Oyo State and beyond to pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless you with sound health, renewed strength, divine wisdom, and many more years of impactful service to humanity,” he prayed.
Otunba Oluseye Opatoki concluded by urging younger politicians and public office holders to emulate the celebrant’s “discipline, depth, and dedication,” saying that Oyo State needs more leaders who lead with both brains and heart.
