The Minister of Power, Chief Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has commenced a comprehensive statewide mobilization drive aimed at galvanizing members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State towards ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the electoral success of all candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.

Chief Tegbe kick-started the mobilization exercise on Sunday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, with strategic consultative meetings involving party leaders, local government executives, ward chairmen and community stakeholders drawn from Ibadan South-East and Ibadan North Local Government Areas.

The meetings, which were held in an atmosphere of unity and renewed enthusiasm, form part of a broader engagement strategy designed to reposition the Oyo APC, reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 polls.

Addressing party faithful at the separate meetings, the Minister underscored the imperative of unity, cohesion and collective responsibility within the party, stressing that internal harmony remains the most potent weapon for electoral victory.

Tegbe, who called for intensified grassroots engagement across the state, charged party leaders to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to every nook and cranny of Oyo State.

“We must take this mobilization to every ward and every polling unit across Oyo State. Our victory in 2027 will depend on our ability to unite our members, engage the people at the grassroots and convince them of the benefits of continuity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

The Minister maintained that President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated uncommon courage and vision in tackling long-standing national challenges, particularly in the power sector, noting that the ongoing reforms are already beginning to yield tangible improvements in electricity supply and service delivery.

According to him, the federal government’s sustained interventions in power generation, transmission and distribution will in no distant time translate into improved living standards and enhanced economic productivity for Nigerians.

“We will spare no effort to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu gets re-elected in 2027, and we are not going to stop at that, as all the candidates of our great party will get our full backing to ensure total victory for the APC at all levels,” Tegbe declared.

He urged members of the party in the state to set aside personal differences, close ranks and work as a united family in pursuit of the common goal of reclaiming Oyo State and retaining power at the centre.

Beyond politics, Tegbe used the occasion to highlight key federal government power sector interventions currently being executed across Oyo State, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people.

He disclosed that plans are underway for the deployment of solar mini-grids in several underserved communities across the state, while major electrification projects in Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa zones are nearing completion.

According to the Minister, the projects are strategically designed to address decades-long power challenges, expand access to reliable and affordable electricity, stimulate local economies and create jobs for the teeming youth population.

“Our commitment is not just about politics; it is also about delivering tangible benefits to the people. When we provide stable electricity, we are empowering artisans, traders, small businesses and households to thrive,” he noted.

In his remarks, the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who was present at the meeting, lauded the Minister for his proactive leadership and strategic approach to party mobilization.

Alli expressed confidence in Tegbe’s capacity to deliver on his ministerial mandate and to provide the needed leadership that would unite and energize the party in the state ahead of the general elections. He called on all party members to support the Minister with prayers and total commitment.

Other party leaders present at the meetings also took turns to reaffirm their loyalty to the party and their readiness to work assiduously for the success of President Tinubu and all APC candidates in 2027.

They described the mobilization initiative as timely and commendable, noting that it would go a long way in strengthening internal unity, rekindling the confidence of members at the grassroots and positioning the APC for a resounding victory in Oyo State.

The Ibadan meetings mark the first phase of the statewide mobilization tour, which is expected to cover all federal constituencies and local government areas in Oyo State in the coming weeks.
