With a view to ensuring the peaceful atmosphere and violence free in OnaAra Local Government and its environs, The Executive Chairman of the Local Council in Oyo State, Hon. Musbau Sanusi Shabba has met with the community stakeholders and security agencies on ways to tackle the security challenges,in order to restore the sustained peace, crime free environment and togetherness among the inhabitants.



The security meeting which was held at Ilaji Hotel & Sports Resort, Oloyo Village, akanran Ibadan was summoned by the chairman, Shabba On Tuesday, July 6 at the instance of the Mini African Cup of Nation to take place at Ilaji Sport Resort and readiness to ensure that the entire OnaAra is also violent and crime free, during and after the football tournament.
The LG Boss in his presentation disclosed that no external assailants nor hoodlums will be allowed to carry out their purported dastardly and evil acts in the Local Government and its environs, assuring that all the Law Enforcement Agencies(LEAs) and other paramilitary officers will be collectively engaged and carried along in order to prevent the nefarious activities of the alleged hoodlums and Fulani Herdsmen.
Shabba called on security agencies to fasten their belts and work collectively with a view to mounting and beaming security searchlight at the respective borders across the local government.



He however said that since he came on board to man the affairs of the local council, there was no record of violence nor disorderliness, stressing that while the issue of N-SARS was hot and prevalent in other places, OnaAra remained the only Local Government where the hoodlums were not allowed to carry out the acts of purported wastage of government properties and other dastardly acts.

A representative of Nigerian Army, appreciated the organizers of the security summit towards readiness and determination to end the security challenges and disposition to ensuring sustained peace in the local government, adding that the stakeholders know the community better than the security agencies and it becomes important that they should cooperate with the security agencies in order to attain the prime motive of security summit.



Deputy Director of SSS in OnaAra LG, Johnson Adebayo said that Standard Operation Procedures(SOP) helped the security agencies to work intelligently and effectively on attainment of success on anyone perpetrating evils and violence in the society, adding that to achieve desirable results, the local security men need to work in tandem with the procedures and plans.
Akanran, Divisional Police Officer, DSP Elijah Adenakan said there was no doubt in existence of security challenges across the country as the leader’s attitude and posture sometimes determines the position of security in the society.
DPO however encouraged the stakeholders and the council boss to expedite the actions through which the farm settlement needed to engage youths would be established.
Saheed Babalola Abidoye, a representative of Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency(OYRTMA) disclosed that all plans, strategies and actions to man the traffic in the axis while the Mini Football Cup of Nation is in progress have been mapped out, reiterating that operation burst, police men, union leaders, local vigilantes and others will be unanimously engaged.
Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Egbeda/OnaAra, Mogaji Adegboyega Akinlolu Akin Oosa appreciated the Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Ilaji Hotel &Sports Resort, Engr Dotun Sanusi for his eagerness towards peaceful coexistence and togetherness of all inhabitants living in the community, calling on all other stakeholders and parents to engage their children and wards in legal activities that would positively change their lives.
Akin Oosa also commended Governor Seyi Makinde on his efforts on the state of security which Engr Dotun Sanusi is corroborating in Ona-Ara LG, hailing the duo and imploring them to do more for the betterment of people across the pacesetter state.
The Chairman,Traditional Council in OnaAra Local Government, HRM Abimbola Ajibola hailed the sons and daughters who consider the progress and development of the local council important, adding that it is high time they placed all hands on deck with prime aim to end the security problems and largely ensuring peace and unity in the community.
Oniladun of Laduntan, HRM Kamorudeen Adebowale frowned at the Chiefs and Baales who were alleged of selling owned lands to another buyers, warned them to desist from the dubious acts which are capable of precipitating the retrieval of accorded beads from them.
The monarch lauded Chief Bayo Oyero and Local Government Chairman whom he said were toeing the paths through which the local council could attain the greater heights.
The CEO, Ilaji Hotel & Sports Resort, Engr(Chief) Dotun Sanusi said unity among the local security agencies was the only prerequisite that would enhance the possibility of eradicating the security security challenges, adding that LEAs should also collaborate with the paramilitary officers so as to attain maximum result on peace, crime and violence free among others.
Dotun Sanusi thanked the stakeholders for their impacts which are geared towards the lives’ betterment of OnaAra residents and peaceful coexistence among the inhabitants.
Stressing that the major decisions taken so far had in no doubt assisted in preventing crises during N-SARS, Elections and other troubling periods.
Another stakeholder, Chief Bayo Oyero called on land grabbers who are fomenting troubles and crises in the community and its environs to desist henceforth.
He equally called on people who know the sons and daughters whose parents’ buildings have become dilapidated to do something urgently, saying the dilapidated buildings had become hideouts to hoodlums who are allegedly terrorizing the community.
The summit was well attended by the community stakeholders, security agents, the political functionaries, political leaders and others respectively.
