Addressing the mammoth crowd, Hon. Remi Oseni described his approach to representation as “Ko She Le Ri”, an unprecedented and first-of-its-kind model of legislative service. He said his time in the National Assembly has been devoted to bringing development directly to the people, with measurable outcomes across infrastructure, education, empowerment and community welfare.

The federal lawmaker noted that he was among the first in the House of Representatives to facilitate the construction of community roads with bitumen, a move that has eased transportation and boosted commerce in several communities. In the power sector, he said his office has facilitated the distribution of over 31 transformers to communities, a development that has significantly improved electricity supply, with a commitment to do more to ensure that no community is left in darkness.

In education, Hon. Remi Oseni revealed that his intervention predated his election to the House, having constructed 2 schools before 2023 and facilitated the construction of more than 3 additional schools since, with several others currently at various stages of completion. To reduce the financial burden on parents, he disclosed that he has sponsored about 1,300 WAEC examination forms and 1,600 JAMB forms for students across his constituency and beyond.

Speaking on youth empowerment and security, the APC Senatorial hopeful stated that his office has distributed over 7,000 solar streetlights across communities to enhance security and extend economic activities into the night. He urged the people to vote massively for all APC candidates in 2027 and to support his ambition to represent Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly. He assured that the template of grassroots-focused representation, infrastructure delivery, and direct empowerment that has defined his tenure in the House would be replicated and expanded at the Senate to cover all 9 Local Government Areas of Oyo South.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu is working. At the Senate, I will work with him to bring more federal presence, more projects, and more opportunities to our people in Oyo South,” he said.

In response to requests presented by representatives of market and community groups, Hon. Remi Oseni made immediate pledges. He promised the provision of 50 solar lights for mosques and churches in the area and an additional 200 solar lights to illuminate streets across Ibadan South-West.

He also pledged to construct 2 modern toilets for market use out of the 5 requested, and to sink 10 boreholes instead of the 5 initially requested in order to improve access to clean water for traders and residents. He further assured youths of continuous empowerment schemes and skills development programmes.

The event ended with renewed calls for unity, peace, and massive support for the APC and Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni’s senatorial ambition.

Stakeholders described the Akere engagement as a strategic consolidation of the APC’s grassroots base in Ibadan and a clear signal of the party’s readiness for 2027. With a record of delivering over 7,000 solar lights, 31 transformers, 5+ schools, 2,900 exam sponsorships, 80 youth million-naira grants, and 150 jobs, coupled with direct financial support to community groups, Hon.
