The patients who are currently on admission at University College Hospital, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State have lamented and cried out to governments over the current epilepsy of power supply and poor conditions of the hospital’s premises.
In an interaction with one of the patients who spoke under the condition of anonymity lamented that the hospital is currently experiencing an epilepsy of power supply while the hospital’s premises does not befit its standard.
He lamented that he got to the hospital some hours ago on a critical condition that requires placing in an environment that would be accessible to breeze and cross ventilation, adding that it was surprised and pathetic that there was no electricity to stabilize the conditions of the admitted patients.
In his furtherance, the patient lamented that with current experience of epilepsy of power supply, the hospital’s management could not afford to alternate the source of power as they left the majority of patients with their critical state of health under severe heat and stuffy conditions.Adding that the general condition of the hospital’s premises was so bad that the patients need to carefully take care of themselves so as to avoid contracting another forms of aliments.
While calling on governments, the anonymous patient called on governments at state and federal levels to expedite the needed and necessary actions on how the 24 hours electricity would be restored to the hospital and how the condition of the premises would wear a new look.
He said health remained an important key aspect which governments at all levels need to give the needed priority and uncommon attention.He emphasized that sound health is important to acquisition of wealth, adding that without sound health, life becomes miserable to live.
