In a major grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections, Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abass Oseni, APC Senatorial Candidate for Oyo South, on Saturday, 5th September, 2026, engaged members of the Arewa Community in Awotan, Alapata and Apete, securing their firm commitment to deliver overwhelming votes for the party across all polling units in their settlements.
The engagement, which was marked by warmth, mutual respect and political solidarity, further demonstrated the candidate’s commitment to inclusiveness, peaceful politics and grassroots development across ethnic and religious lines in Oyo South Senatorial District.
Addressing a mammoth gathering of community leaders, women, youths, and traditional rulers, Hon. Remi Oseni emphasized the importance of peaceful participation, unity, and the responsible exercise of civic rights in the forthcoming elections.
He urged residents to turn out en masse to vote for all APC candidates from the Presidency to the Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly levels, while also ensuring that their votes are properly protected, counted, and made to count.
“Your votes are your power. Use them wisely, use them peacefully, and use them for the continued progress of Oyo State and Nigeria. The APC remains the party that delivers infrastructure, empowerment, and hope to the people,” Hon. Oseni stated.
In keeping with his track record of direct community support, Hon. Remi Oseni announced and disbursed financial donations totaling ₦8,000,000 (Eight Million Naira) to various groups within the Arewa Community.
The gesture was widely applauded by attendees who described it as a clear demonstration of the candidate’s commitment to carrying all segments of society along, irrespective of ethnic or religious background.
In a resounding declaration, leaders of the Hausa communities in Apete, Alapata and Awotan assured Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni of their unflinching support and pledged to deliver victory for the APC at all polling units within their enclaves in 2027.
They vowed to mobilize massively for Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni for Oyo South Senate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Niyi Yussuff, APC Candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, and all other APC candidates.
The leaders also commended Hon. Remi Oseni’s impressive representation at the Green Chamber, citing his track record long before venturing fully into partisan politics.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Remi Oseni listed several of his unprecedented interventions across Ibarapa East and Ido Federal Constituency and beyond, which he said totalled,
32 Transformers distributed, over 50 Boreholes sunk, empowerment programs running into billions of naira, and various health and educational intervention programs.
He noted that his approach to representation has always been people-centered, and that the same template of service would be replicated and expanded at the Senate to benefit all nine Local Government Areas in Oyo South.
The Oyo South Senatorial hopeful, Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni, also used the opportunity to formally introduce Hon. Niyi Yussuff, the APC candidate chosen to succeed him at the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, appealing to the Arewa leaders to extend the same support to him.
In appreciation of his representation and philanthropic gestures, some Arewa Women presented Hon. Remi Oseni with gifts at the event. The candidate immediately shared the items with those present at the venue, a move that further endeared him to the crowd.
Community members described the meeting as “one of the most engaging and impactful” they have had with a political office holder, noting that Hon. Remi Oseni’s consistent presence at the grassroots sets him apart.
The Arewa leaders confirmed that they would take the message of Hon. Remi Oseni’s senatorial campaign to all other Hausa settlements across the 9 LGAs of Oyo South Senatorial District, assuring that the APC would record landslide victories in areas with significant Arewa population.
They guaranteed that with unity and continued engagement, Oyo South would remain an APC stronghold in 2027.
Political observers noted that Saturday’s engagement is a strategic consolidation of the APC’s base in Oyo South and a reflection of Hon. Remi Oseni’s political philosophy of “No One Left Behind.”
