IBADAN, Oyo State — The 2027 All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abass Oseni, on Thursday took his grassroots engagement to Tapa in Ibarapa North Local Government Area, describing the visit as “more like a family reunion than an official engagement.”

Hon. Oseni, who currently represents Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, said the visit was driven by his conviction that leadership must remain anchored on service, faith, and compassion for the people.

The lawmaker’s first stops were at the Faith Baptist Church, Tapa Community, and the Tapa Central Mosque. He joined worshippers in moments of fellowship, prayers, and reflection on the progress of the community and Oyo State at large. The engagements provided an opportunity for interfaith dialogue and reaffirmed his commitment to religious harmony as a pillar of sustainable development.
Speaking during the visits, Hon. Remi Oseni said leadership extends beyond partisan politics. “For me, leadership is beyond politics; it is about service to humanity, commitment to God, and responsibility to our people. I firmly believe that every opportunity to serve is a privilege bestowed by God. When one refuses to serve with sincerity, humility, and compassion, God, in His infinite wisdom, can raise another,” he stated.
He added that human existence should be measured by the impact made on communities while in positions of influence. “As human beings, we came into this world with nothing, and at the appointed time, we shall return to our Creator with nothing. What truly matters, therefore, is the positive impact we make in the lives of people and communities while we have the grace and opportunity,” he noted.

Hon. Remi Oseni also held a warm tête-à-tête with members of the APC in Ibarapa North. The interactive session focused on party unity, grassroots mobilization, and development priorities for the local government, Oyo South Senatorial District, and Oyo State. Party members used the opportunity to raise concerns and share expectations ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
The lawmaker assured them that the party’s structure at the ward level remains central to the APC’s strength in Oyo State. He pledged to sustain regular consultation with stakeholders to ensure that policies and interventions reflect the realities of constituents.
In line with his commitment to community welfare and religious harmony, Hon. Oseni announced financial support totaling Fifteen Million Naira, ₦15,000,000, for institutions and stakeholders in Tapa.
Faith Baptist Church received Five Million Naira, ₦5,000,000, to support developmental projects. Tapa Central Mosque also received Five Million Naira, ₦5,000,000, to aid its growth and welfare initiatives. APC members in Ibarapa North received another Five Million Naira, ₦5,000,000, to strengthen party activities and grassroots engagement.
He explained that the interventions were motivated by his belief that governance must be compassionate and responsive. “In line with my unwavering commitment to religious harmony, community development, and the welfare of our people, I am delighted to share that, by the grace of Almighty God, we were able to support these institutions to aid developmental efforts and strengthen the welfare of our people,” he said.
The gathering also provided a platform for meaningful discussions on the continued growth of Ibarapa North, Oyo South, and Oyo State. Participants emphasized the need for improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, and support for small businesses.
Hon. Remi Oseni assured constituents that the Tapa visit marked the beginning of a sustained engagement across the senatorial district. “This is only the beginning. By the grace of God Almighty, we will continue to return to our people, not just in Ibarapa North, Oyo South, but across Oyo State, because governance must remain close to the people, compassionate in action, and sincere in purpose,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to building stronger communities, uplifting lives, and sustaining the values of unity, faith, and progress as the 2027 elections approach.
