The gangs of 7 armed robbers who came in a blue toyota corolla with number plate(LSR 257 FF) stormed First Bank PLC, Okeho Branch, Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State around 4:30 pm on Wednesday, 29th July,2020 with intention and readiness to rob and cart away the accumulated money being deposited by the customers.
Investigation conducted by Khalid Imran, Editor, naijatodaynews.com revealed that the armed robbers who gained entrance into the bank used dynamites and AK-47 riffles shots to blow the bank security door and killed a police officer manning the gate while eating.
While the dastardly operation was in progress, the local hunters available had not made them suspicious of their availability and presence around the bank’s surroundings and other strategic places.
Consequent upon their readiness and determination to prevent their escape, four (4) of the robbers were killed by the local hunters and vigilante when their blue Toyota Corolla had an accident and thereafter set ablaze by the angry mob at the scene of the accident.
Having dealt with the four armed robbers, the local hunters, vigilantes, Police Tactical teams including the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Mobile Police Force (PMF 72) and Police personnel from Okeho Area Command and nearby Divisions began to trail the three (3)other members of the fleeing robbers who escaped in different direction to Ilero axis of the community.
The Onjo of Okeho, Oba Abdul-Rafiu Adeitan condemned the dastardly act and described the sad development as pathetic, disheartening and worrisome.
In his appreciation, Onjo thanked the good people of the community and most especially the local hunters, vigilantes and men of Law Enforcement Agents(LEA) for their display of courage, bravery and readiness to combat the assailants.
He felicitated with the muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir, praying that they shall live to witness many more on earth with sound health and prosperity.
He enjoined all residents in the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to men of Law Enforcement Agents(LEA) and other paramilitary officers.
