The western Hall, Secretariat, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State was filled to capacity, as the stakeholders, and general members of Jamatul Tijanniyat Society of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter organized fervent prayers for the reelection of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The epoch making occasion that took place on Wednesday, January 18 had in attendance of the state’s Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal where he spoke on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Oyo DG spoke on importance of knowledge and relevance of the Islamic schoolers, whom he described as noble men and vicegerents who had earlier forseen what is happening now.
Lawal, added that firm mastery of Hadith and Qur’an by those Islamic scholars and their abilities to organize sermons and public lectures to people had no doubt liberated many souls from ignorance.
Kishi-born lawyer and politician however tasked generality of Muslims to ensure they stick to unity, oneness and togetherness, in order to have common front in all all encounters.
He said, he was happy to be part of those who received, the Khalipha of Sheikh Ibraheem Niyass, who is Sheikh Muhammed Mahy while he came to Oyo State, despite short notice.
Reiterating that, coming across men of God is not easy, but he was happy that he had privilege to see and meet with Sheikh Muhammed Mahy, while he had no expectation.
Lawal tasked them to show maximum support to Governor Seyi Makinde’s, and most especially on fruition of his second term bid, assuring them, that Governor would grant the requests which had been put forward to him.
Member of Oyo State House of Assembly, who represents Ibadan South East Constituency 2, Hon. Abdullah Ademola AbdulRasaq known as ‘Omosheu’ lauded every member of Jamatul Tijanniya Society of Nigeria, Oyo Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, Engr Abduljeleel Adekunle Kareem and the special adviser on Islamic affairs for their active participation at the prayer session.
Omosheu stressed that, the organized prayer session was to seek favour of Allah on possibility of Seyi/Bayo for second terms of office, maintaining that Governor Seyi Makinde’s led administration has completely shown what the true governance means towards betterment of all and sundry in the state.
The Special Adviser on Islamic Affairs, Abdul Rasheed Abdulazeez enjoined Muslims regardless of denominations to speak in one voice, remain in unison and relate peacefully for the progress of Islam and its adherents.
Engr Abduljeleel Adekunle Kareem, Mogaji Adanla, Turaki Adini of Oyo State and Wakil Faidol of Tijaniyyat of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta said the purpose of gathering was aimed at fostering unity, oneness and togetherness among all members of Jamatul Tijanniyat Society Of Nigeria.
Adanla however said, Makinde deserved second term of office, sequel to his attainment of unprecedented feats across the nooks and crannies of the state.
Adding that his achievements are too numerous to mention, that he had virtually touched all sectors in the state without leaving any behind.
The programme with Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Gani Cisse had in attendance of Commissioner for Education, Hon Abdulraheem Abiodun, Commissioner for Special Duty, Alhaja Fausat, Commissioner for Energy, Barr Seun Ashamu, Commissioner for Health, Dr Bode Ladipo.
