The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Gold Chibuisi has called for more unity and oneness among the Armed forces of the Federation, so as to completely eradicate all forms of security challenges confronting the nation.
Major General Chibuisi made this call when the Commander, 671 Nigerian Airforce Detachment Ibadan, Air Commodore Babatunde Folaji paid him a courtesy visit to further cement the existing cordial relations between the two forces.
The GOC dispelled the rumour of disunity among the armed forces and commended the current Service Chiefs for their resolve to reposition the forces to effectively work in a joint environment.
He further described the Armed Forces as one pursuing the same goal of protecting lives and property as well as the territorial integrity of Nigeria.
He therefore used the opportunity to warn the troops operating in the Divisions Area of Responsibility not to involve themselves in electioneering, aid any politician or fall prey to inducement by land grabbers, as any personnel caught perpetrating such acts will be made to face the wrath of the law.
Earlier, the Commander 671 Nigerian Airforce Detachment, Ibadan, Commodore Babatunde Folaji appreciated the cordial relationship and the hospitability the GOC and the Division has been giving to the personnel of the detachment whenever the need arises. Commodore Folaji while pledging to synergise and cooperate with other security agencies in Oyo state in order to move the state and indeed the nation forward, commended the GOC for creating the enabling environment for other services to work together for the peace and security of Nigeria.
The highpoint of the visit include the exchange of souvenirs between the two and a group photograph.
