The University College Hospital(UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State has discharged the only patient being managed for coronavirus pestilence in the hospital, as precautionary measures are being taken to curtail the occurrence of new cases.
The message of patient’s recuperation and discharge was contained in a release personally signed by the Hospital’s Covid-19 Media Team and made available to Naija Today News on Thursday, May 21st.
The Media Team in another development disclosed that, “The hospital’s capacity for the treatment of coronavirus (COVID 19) has received a boost with the installation of solar inverter at the Infectious Disease Unit (IDU) of the hospital”.
“The inverter, which was donated by an organization in response to call for assistance to fight the COVID 19 is now fully functional”.
“The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo expressed delight that with the installation of the inverter, 24-hour supply of light is guaranteed at the IDU”.
“He also disclosed that the hospital had received cash donations from individuals and corporate bodies, as well as large quantities of protective equipment and consumables for use during the fight against the coronavirus”.
In its reiteration, “as at the close of business on Wednesday, 20th May, 2020, the only patient being managed for COVID 19 in the hospital has been discharged, and no new case has been reported and yet all necessary precautions are being taken”.
“The University College Hospital, Ibadan will continue to render excellent care and services to all our patients”.
“The Hospital equally enjoins everyone to adhere to the required infection prevention and control measures prescribed by the WHO and the NCDC, such as physical distancing, regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizers & face masks.
