Ibadan, Oyo State – The Chairman, House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni, has declared that the 2027 re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is “a workover,” citing unprecedented achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and economic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Hon. Oseni, who represents Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency and is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in 2027, made the declaration on Monday, June 29, 2026, during a farmers’ empowerment programme held at the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) Office, Ologuneru, Ibadan.
Addressing a large crowd of farmers, party faithful, and traditional rulers, the lawmaker asserted that only “hypocrites and unfair people” would deny the tremendous progress recorded by President Tinubu in the last three years of his administration.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu put Nigeria back on track. When we say we don’t know where the government is going, we knew where the government was when he came in as President. If you don’t know where you are going, you know where you are coming from. We all understand how Nigeria was before President Tinubu assumed office,” Oseni stated.
He recalled the fuel crisis of 2023, noting that Nigerians once bought adulterated fuel from roadside sellers at exorbitant prices. “But today, there is no filling station where you cannot buy fuel. Initially, people complained about the fuel subsidy removal. If the fuel subsidy had not been removed, we would still be buying black market fuel of bad quality,” he explained.
Hon. Oseni argued that the removal of fuel subsidy has enabled all 36 state governments to pay salaries without delay while executing massive infrastructure projects. “All the governors, after receiving their allocations, also collect intervention support from the Federal Government led by President Tinubu. That is why you are seeing them doing different projects,” he said.
He highlighted the impact of the tax reforms and massive road projects nationwide, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Badagry-Sokoto Expressway. “If the government completes the Badagry to Sokoto road, in less than two and a half hours, you can leave Ibadan and get to Sokoto, which previously took a whole day,” he noted.
Listing ongoing concrete road projects, Oseni mentioned Ilesha-Ibadan, Sagamu-Benin, Benin-Onitsha, Enugu-Onitsha, Enugu-Port Harcourt, Uyo-Calabar, Abuja-Kano, and Abuja-Kaduna. “Enugu to Port Harcourt is actually completed and due for commissioning. Go and look at the contractors working on Calabar to Uyo; you will have reason to appreciate God for what Mr President is doing,” he added.
On healthcare, the FERMA Chairman said all apex hospitals in Nigeria have been restructured and are receiving desired improvements. He also revealed that President Tinubu has declared a state of emergency on water supply, with all federal institutions receiving sufficient support in that sector.
“All that President Tinubu started in three years cannot solve all the challenges we have passed through over the years. Mr President only used two and a half years to work. Two and a half years cannot correct all the imbalances of the last 20 years,” Oseni appealed, urging Nigerians to give the government more time.
Looking ahead to 2027, Hon. Oseni vowed to deliver one million votes for President Tinubu in Oyo State. “Let me tell you categorically that after the APC in Nigeria today, there is no other party. Out of mercy and the grace of God, 2027 for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a workover. Our efforts to deliver one million votes for the President are consistent. But not by mouth; we have started the journey,” he declared.
The Onido of Ido, Oba Muritala Babalola, who spoke at the event, praised Oseni’s philanthropy, recalling that he has been supporting traditional rulers in Ibadan with ₦20 million monthly since the administration of late Governor Isiak Abiola Ajimobi.
Hon. Oseni concluded by promising more dividends of democracy if re-elected as Senator for Oyo South in 2027. “By God’s grace, after I emerge as Senator, all our efforts will not be in vain,” he assured.
