Oyo Assembly Approves 43 Alteration Bills In The Nigeria Constitution

Oyo State House of Assembly today in its sitting presided by the speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin approved the fifth alteration bills in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria of the NASS/CNA/20/VOL.I/30 dated 28th March, 2022 as sponsored by the majority leader, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin in the number 1-11, 20,21,24,26,27,30-34;39,40,41,43-55,57- 58,62-63,65,and 66.

Items in the approved bills include naming local government as a tier of government, renaming of Egbado North as Egbado South, age for judiciary officer’s retirement, removal of electricity, chieftaincy and railway from the exclusive list and basic education a fundamental right for all citizens and governance towards food security.

Similarly, the House received four (4) Bills from the Executive governor of Oyo State,Seyi Makinde titled ” Need to establish Oyo state Bureau of physical and development planning Commission Bill”, ” Need to amend Haulage Bill,2023″, “Oyo state building control Agency Bill 2023″, ” Destruction of public property Prohibition Bill 2023″ and ” Oyo State Energy Regulatory Commission Bill 2023″,all of which were transmitted for first reading.

The House adjourned its sitting to Tuesday 21st March,2023
