Youth Elites under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State have charged the party’s leaders to consider youths in the scheme of things within the party and beyond.
This was disclosed on Tuesday, September 1st while paying a solidarity visit to the Public Office Holders and party’s stalwarts at Kajola Local Government and Iwa, Local Council Development Area(LCDA).
While revealing the purpose of visit, the Spokesman of Youth Elites, Comrade Sulaiman Bola said that the purpose of visit was premised on youth elites’ readiness to liase with the public functionaries on how the internal wranglings within the party would be amicably resolved.
Bola added that it was also centred on admonition to the public functionaries at the local levels and beyond on how good governance and campaigns’ promises would be optimally delivered to the masses.
He stressed that it becomes important and necessary to state that they have confidence in Hon. Kabiru Yekeen Otitoloju and others’ inclusion in the cabinet, saying that if they are given another portfolios, they would not disappoint the leaders and masses in their administrative discharge.
In his own contribution, the Coordinator of the group, Mr Salawu Fatai said he on behalf of other Youth Elites felicitated the Chairmen, Secretaries and Supervisory Councillors and others at the two local governments for their appointment to act in those capacities, charging them to expedite the necessary actions that are germane to extension of dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
In their words of admonition, Comrade Sulaiman Ayandokun equally congratulated the appointees and charged them to deliver effectively so as to make the masses and members of opposition feel that PDP is in power at local and state levels.
Comrade Haadi Oluwafemi appealed to the Public Office Holders to make their attained feats surpass the previous occupiers of offices, saying the last administration led by All Progressives Congress (APC) had disappointed the masses and the only way to make difference between the current and last administrations is to ascertain the delivery of good governance and total fulfilment of campaign’s promises.
In their responses, The Secretary to Kajola Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Ogundokun who received the guests on behalf of Hon. (Alhaji) Saliman Afolabi Borikansunwon (Chairman) welcomed and appreciated the youth elites for what they are doing to promote the party, adding that their impacts towards the party’s progress are noted and acknowledged and he promised to make their presence and discussion known to the Chairman.
Hon. Gedion, the Caretaker Chairman, Iwa, Local Council Development Area commended them for making an historical solidarity visit at this material time that youths are indispensably needed for party’s progress and other activities.
He lavished encomiums on them and he promised that his led adminstration would do everything possible to deliver good governance to the people.
Hon. Kabiru Yekeen Otitoloju, the Supervisory Councillor for Works and Transport commended the guests for their resolution to make a solidarity visit, saying that they would not disappoint the youths they are representing and stressed that Governor Seyi Makinde’s cardinal programmes and policies would be adhered to at the local level.
Hon. (Alhaji) Bisi O.K. Salam, Supervisory Councillor for Agric, Hon. Sulaimam Morakinyo Maitama, Special Duty, Hon.(Mrs) Ogundijo, Health and Hon.(Mrs) Sikirat Adebayo, Women Affairs praised the youth elites and advised them to ensure that the internal wranglings in the party are resolved soonest.
The visit was well participated and rounded off with prayer anchored by Comrade Sulaiman Giwa.
