

University of Ibadan, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State has lost one of his retired senior lecturers, Dr. Abdul-Rasaq Olopoenia to cold hands of death.
Olopoenia who worked as a senior lecturer at Economics Department of the academic institution for several years died in the early hours of Tuesday, May 5th and had been buried in his town, Okeho, Kajola Local Government, according to Islamic rites.

In his brief biography, Olopoenia was born about 77 years ago to the family of late Chief Shittu Akanbi Gbenusola Olopoenia, Okeho, Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State.
He bagged Doctorate Degree(PhD) in Economics and had worked as a senior lecturer for many years in the department of Economics, University of Ibadan.

He was a certified Economist magnate who had written many textbooks in the field of economics.
An Ex-ASUU Leader and illustrious son of Okeholand was known for doggedness, courage and exemplary leadership qualities with impact in capacities he had served and his notable fight for the development of his town and Oke-Ogun in general during his lifetime.
