The Lawmaker representing Ibadan South East Constituency 2 at Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Popoola Ademola Olusegun has distributed Ramadan gifts to the constituents.
The parliamentarian in an interaction with Naija Today News on Sunday, April 26th said that the distribution of Ramadan gifts to Muslim adherents in his constituency was aimed at relieving them of hardship being orchestrated by coronavirus pandemic ravaging the state, country and globe at large.
Hon Popoola said it was no more a gainsaying and indisputable fact that the holy month of Ramadan came at a time that Oyo State and Nigeria are battling with the outbreak, prevalence and sad development of coronavirus pandemic, stressing that ramadan’s observation should be easy in term of consumable and other relief materials to use by the muslim adherents through out of the month but affirmed amazes that that the prevalent virus had not allowed people and most importantly the Muslim faithful to work for their needed consumptions.
Popoola said that the distribution of relief materials to Muslims and others in his constituency was in line with his resolve, plan and determination to ensure that the dividends of democracy would be brought to the door steps of his constituents.
The Lawmaker who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government charged the Muslims in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole to use the occasion of ramadan to pray fervently to Almighty Allah on total eradication of coronavirus pandemic and other challenges holding the progress and development of the state and country at large.
Popson in joyful mood showed his felicitation with the Muslim adherents in Oyo State, Nigeria and the globe,praying that God Almighty would grant all their supplications, sacrifices and other good deeds offering before, during and after the month of Ramadan.
He admonished them to inculcate the moral, economic and spiritual lessons accompanied by the month, stressing that Ramadan was important as it was made an obligatory act for the people of ancient time.
