Oyo state governor,Engineer Seyi Makinde has appealed to the national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party against allowing reactionary elements antics to shift the zonal congress of the party in the south west slated for 6th March,next month.
Governor Makinde stated this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the PDP caucus meeting held in Ibadan and insinuations that the national working committee of the party was planning to postpone the zonal congress in the south west region.
Governor Makinde said the PDP caucus at its meeting in Ibadan reaffimed the zoning arrangement for the positions of the south west zonal executives noting that each state has put up a unity lists intended to be used for the congress.
The governor who described as unacceptable the purported postponement of the zonal congress in the south west, reiterated that the zone is ready to have a congress that would produce the zonal executives that would be acceptable to all.
Governor Makinde said PDP as a party poised to take the mantle of leadership in the country supposed not to have been seen within its fold to do something that would compromise any aspect of governance in Nigeria.
On the possibility of parallel congress, governor Makinde said he did not forseen a parallel congress which he said necessitated putting the national working committee of pdp on notice to do what is right.
