Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Dr Fatai Aborode, a Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ibarapa axis of Oyo State by yet-to-be identified assailants.


The State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Olugbenga Fadeyi disclosed this today in his statement that was made available to the news men.


According to him,”reacting to the sad occurrence, the State Police Public Relation Officer Suprintendent Olugbenga Fadeyi on Saturday Morning at about 7: 56am through a Press Statement stated that
“At about 1750 hrs of 11/12/2020, along Apodun road Igangan, one Alh Fatai Aborode ‘m’ of Igangan, was robbed and shot by four unknown gun men, the victim was rushed to Olugbon hospital Igboora where he was confirmed dead”.
The statement further said that “Effort is on to arrest the fleeing assailants.
It had been earlier reported that some unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked both Dr. Fatai Aborode and his manager while leaving his farm on motobike at about 4pm on Friday.

He was said to have died in between Tapa and Aiyete Community as a result of severe injuries sustained during the attack that was launched on him by his attackers while being rushed to hospital at Igboora.
As at the time of filling this report, no body has been arrested in connection with the crime.
Although according to the press statement by the State Police Public Relation Officer SP. Olugbenga Fadeyi stressed that all efforts are in place to arrest the fleeing assailants.
