The Member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), has opened applications for young people interested in serving as a One-Day House of Representatives Member.
The initiative is aimed at providing young people in Ibadan North with an opportunity to gain firsthand experience of legislative duties, governance, leadership and the workings of the National Assembly.
According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, Bodija Akinwale, the initiative is designed to encourage youth participation in governance while exposing young constituents to the responsibilities and processes of legislative representation.
The statement said applicants must be young people passionate about leadership, governance and community development, adding that applicants must have performed their civic responsibility in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
It further stated that interested applicants must not be more than 25 years old.
Qualified applicants are expected to complete the application form online, with the deadline for submission fixed for September 30, 2026.
The initiative is sponsored and facilitated by Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), Member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
Akinwale said the opportunity underscores Oyekunle’s commitment to youth development, leadership exposure and inclusive representation, stressing that young people should be given opportunities to understand and participate meaningfully in democratic governance.
The initiative is expected to provide the selected participant with an opportunity to experience the National Assembly and gain practical insight into the responsibilities of a federal legislator.
Interested young people can apply through the designated online application form before the September 30 deadline.
The initiative is anchored on the message: “Your voice. Your leadership. Your opportunity to experience the National Assembly.”
