New Mobilization Structure Led By Hon. Yomi Olajide Unveils State, Diaspora Executives To Drive APC’s Victory In Oyo
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a formidable grassroots political mobilization group, the Sharafite Movement, SM, has been officially launched across the 33 Local Government Areas and 351 political wards of Oyo State to canvass support for the electoral victory of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the APC governorship candidate, and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The movement, unveiled to the public on Tuesday, is also mandated to mobilize massively for all APC Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly candidates to ensure a resounding victory for the party across all levels.
In a statement signed by the State Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Idris Ismail (Ajeja), the Sharafite Movement said it was established as a strategic response to deepen APC’s presence at the grassroots and to consolidate support for progressive governance in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
“The Sharafite Movement is a people-driven, ward-based mobilization platform committed to selling the vision, achievements, and capacity of Senator Sharafadeen Alli and President Bola Tinubu to every household in Oyo State,” the statement read.
According to the leadership, the movement will engage in voter education, door-to-door campaigns, stakeholder engagements, and continuous sensitization to ensure that APC’s message of renewed hope and purposeful leadership resonates in every community.
To drive its operations, the movement has inaugurated a crop of experienced party chieftains and mobilizers as members of its State Executive Council, led by Hon. Yomi Olajide, popularly known as Royal Umbrella, as State Coordinator.
Other key appointments announced include:
- Secretary: Comrade Muideen Adebiyi
- Public Relations Officer: Alhaji Idris Ismail (Ajeja)
- Director of Women: Florence Yetunde Olubiyi
- Organizing Secretary: Hon. Abolade Olosun
- Director of Prints: Olawoyin Edris
- Director of Volunteers: Olasunkanmi Sijuade
- Director of Mobilization: Kunle Adeleke
In a bid to take the campaign beyond Nigeria’s shores, the movement also appointed coordinators for the diaspora. Olalekan Gbenro will serve as US Sharafite Coordinator, while Otunba Temitope Olumide Adeboye (MIDEX) was named UK Sharafite Coordinator.
Political analysts described the inclusion of diaspora coordinators as a strategic move to galvanize support, funding, and advocacy for APC candidates from Nigerians abroad.
The Sharafite Movement stated that its primary objective is to ensure total victory for the APC in 2027 by aligning with the party’s manifesto and the leadership style of both Senator Alli and President Tinubu.
It noted that Senator Alli’s track record in the National Assembly and President Tinubu’s economic reforms provide a strong basis to market the party to the electorate.
“The time to start is now. We are taking the message of progressive governance, economic renewal, and grassroots development to the 351 wards. Our structure is designed to leave no voter behind,” the leadership stated.
The movement further pledged to work closely with the official campaign organization of Senator Alli and other APC candidates to avoid duplication of efforts and ensure synergy.
The Sharafite Movement called on APC members, stakeholders, youth groups, women associations, and community leaders across Oyo State to key into the initiative and work together for the success of the party.
It emphasized that politics should be about service delivery, unity, and collective progress, adding that the 2027 elections present another opportunity for Oyo people to choose tested leadership and continuity at the national level.
With its structure now in place from ward to diaspora level, the Sharafite Movement said it is poised to become one of the most visible and effective grassroots engines for APC’s electoral success in Oyo State.
