The political space in Oyo State received fresh goodwill today as Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, the Allied People’s Movement (APM) Candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, joined political leaders and stakeholders to celebrate the call to the Nigerian Bar of Barrister Adeleke Mariam Kehinde.
Barrister Mariam Kehinde is the daughter of Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the respected Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Oyo State. Her call to Bar followed the successful completion of her programme at the Nigerian Law School.
In a congratulatory statement issued today, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji described the achievement as a proud moment not only for the Adeleke family but also for Oyo State and the nation’s legal profession.
According to him, the milestone reflects the Adeleke family’s enduring commitment to education, discipline, and service to humanity.
“Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke is a name synonymous with humility, generosity, and grassroots mobilization in Oyo State politics. As Vice Chairman of the PDP in Oyo State, he has remained a stabilizing force and a bridge-builder who inspires loyalty through service,” Engr. Adedeji stated.
The APM candidate noted that the success of Barrister Mariam Kehinde is a direct reflection of the values upheld by her father and the Adeleke household – the pursuit of knowledge, the fear of God, respect for humanity, and dedication to the public good.
“This achievement shows that true leadership extends beyond politics into the home, where character is built and the next generation of nation-builders are raised,” he added.
Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji further stressed that the call to Bar of Barrister Mariam Kehinde is being celebrated across party lines because it represents more than a family victory.
“It is a win for Oyo State, for the PDP family, and for the Nigerian legal profession which gains another brilliant mind committed to justice, equity, and the rule of law,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of his family, political associates and supporters across Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji congratulated Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke and the entire Adeleke family.
He also prayed for the new lawyer, saying:
“May Almighty Allah grant Barrister Adeleke Mariam Kehinde, Esq. wisdom to interpret the law justly, courage to stand for truth, and grace to make impactful contributions to our democracy and society.”
He concluded that Oyo State is reminded once again that “when leaders invest in education and character, the dividends are not only personal but societal.”
