IBADAN, Oyo State – Otunba Oluseye Nathaniel Oladosu Opatoki, former People’s Democratic Party PDP governorship aspirant in Oyo State and a respected voice in the state’s political landscape, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, on his seventh year in office as Executive Governor of Oyo State.
In a goodwill message, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki described Governor Makinde’s administration as one defined by “vision, discipline, and results,” noting that the governor has consistently delivered on his promises despite national economic challenges.
“Seven years ago, you came with a clear vision to make Oyo State work again for all. Today, that vision has materialized in tangible projects that touch lives daily. From education and healthcare to road infrastructure, security architecture, and agricultural transformation, your government has set a standard that others must emulate,” Otunba Opatoki said.
He particularly applauded the governor’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency, which has earned Oyo State recognition for prudent management of resources and consistent investment in capital projects. He also praised the administration’s focus on tourism and culture, noting efforts to reposition Ibadan and other historical sites as economic and cultural destinations.
Otunba Opatoki, who has been a prominent advocate for good governance across party lines, welcomed Governor Seyi Makinde’s emergence as National Leader and presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement APM for the 2027 elections. He described the move as a strategic step toward national renewal.
“Nigeria is at a crossroads and needs leaders with proven capacity to deliver. Governor Seyi Makinde’s performance in Oyo State provides a template for national development. His APM presidential ambition is not just about party politics; it is about offering Nigerians competent, accountable, and visionary leadership. I believe that with his track record, he is well-positioned to unite Nigerians and drive sustainable progress across the federation,” he stated.
Otunba Opatoki prayed for continued divine strength and wisdom for Governor Makinde, expressing confidence that the governor’s leadership would continue to inspire hope and deliver prosperity for Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
