The family of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has announced the burial plans for his late elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde, who passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 65.
According to a radio announcement made by Mogaji Olumuyiwa Makinde, the burial activities will commence on Thursday, February 6, 2025, with a special service of songs at the Remembrance Arcade, Government House, Ibadan, starting at 5 pm. This will be followed by a commendation service at Bishop Akinyele Church, Iwo Road, Ibadan, on Friday, February 7, after which the burial will take place.
To celebrate the life of Engineer Sunday Makinde, an entertainment event has been planned for guests at the open grounds of the prestigious Ibadan Recreation Club, Ibadan, immediately after the burial. However, attendance is restricted to invited guests only, as stated by Mogaji Olumuyiwa Makinde.
Engineer Sunday Makinde is survived by his wife, children, and siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde and Mr. Kayode Makinde. The family has planned a dignified farewell for the departed, and the burial events are expected to be attended by prominent personalities and dignitaries.
