Egbeda APC Receives Three Nominees Ahead Of 2024 LG Council Poll

Following the readiness of the All Progressive’s Congress, APC in Oyo State to partake in the April 2024 Local government polls, the Egbeda Local government of the party has on Tuesday received three interested local chairmanship nominees .

The interested candidates included former local chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Oke, Hon. Dauda Bashiru “Dabas” and a former councillor, Hon. Aliyu Ahmed “Taska” surfaced came during a five-hour critical stakeholders’ meeting held at the Party Secretariat, Segelu, Iwo Road,Ibadan.

The meeting which drew hundreds of the party members was presided over by its party chairman, Comrade Olawale with overall Leader, Sule Suara in attendance, opened various discussions over the Oyo state ministerial nomination dashed to twice-gubernatorial candidate and a former deputy governor, Central Bank Of Nigeria, CBN, Abdulwaheed Adelabu, who was once in the party before the 2023 Gubernatorial Election in the state.

In his reaction, a party chieftain, Hon. Billi Ogundele enjoined members to throw-off their bitterness as the party lost gubernatorial seat to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP the second term and as well ministerial ticket to an opposition member, Adebayo Adelabu, noting the progress of the party should be more paramount to its members.

Hon. Ogundele stressed that the chairmanship candidates would be funded until victory, while councillorship candidates should be nominated and supported by the ward members in relation to the stipulated guidelines of the party in the country.

Meanwhile, a party chieftain, Comrade Moshood Bolomope charged members to wax on its mobilization unconditionally, noted that the rumoured to decamp members should be gladly received without a grudge, adding fervency of members would not permit power-ride.

Speaking, the Party Women Leader, Mrs Aderonke Bukola maintained that the decision of the party to take part in the forthcoming local government election in Oyo State would strengthen the image of the party in the state, called women to be more proactive and being prioritized in any executive positions in the local government.

Addressing, the newsmen after the meeting, one of the interested chairmanship candidates, Hon. Aliyu Ahmed fondly called”Taska” insisted the party has what it takes to lead in the forthcoming election, noting the party is ready to really bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots, called members to remain united.
