The Leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC, Oyo State Chapter has called on well meaning Nigerians to imbibe selflessness in their respective capacity.
This declaration was made on Friday by the chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Kayode Martins while presenting a prestigious award of excellence to the Proprietor, Ilaji Hotels, Resort and ICAST, Dr. Dotun Sanusi in Ibadan.
Martins who noted that Dr. Sanusi has been instrumental to smooth performance and development of labour activities in Oyo State, charged him to uphold the virtue as this will become a pointer of embrace in the country for a worthwhile growth and development.
“People do not understand that Sanusi has given so much to the society. In the workers’ circle, he is included. One way or the other he has contributed immensely to the development of Oyo Township”.
“Take for instance ,on getting here ,we observe that he has more than three hundred (300) people working under him, feeding them, attending to their needs, providing food for their entire family. He has given so much to the society as such must be commended. One of the reasons which make us to deem fit to honour him with a token this afternoon”, he said.
NLC Chairman added that the country can only be better if Sanusi-like persons are in their numeralcy.
“If the country 2 or 3 people of him in any state, Nigeria wouldn’t be where we are today. He’s giving much to the society. He has the face of common man in everything he does. So if we have 2 or 3 of him every state,I maintain, Nigeria wouldn’t be in this mess. He is a pillar and a God endowed being for mankind. He’s always there”, he added.
In his appreciatory remark, the Chief Executive Officer, Ilaji Resorts & Sports who is also the Otun Apesinola of Ibadanland, Chief Dotun Sanusi commended the State workers for honourong him and of co-operation with the government which he noted engineered re-election of Gov. Seyi Makinde .
Sanusi pledged to remain on the camp of the state workers towards ensuring good welfare keeping of the State workforce.
” With your co-operation, Gov. Seyi Makinde returned to office for the 2nd term, to add that I will forever remain on you as long as it concerns the good welfare and wellbeing of Oyo workers. Call me day ,or night, I’m ready for you to do the good struggle together”
Earlier, a People’s Democratic Party,PDP Chieftain, Ona-Ara Local Government, Alhaji Waheed Adurodekun assured the leadership of NLC of readiness of positive impact of Dr Sanusi on its organization, describing Sanusi a divine solution to societal problems.
He is credible man and he will work for you, he will work with you for your rights”
“There is no problem Sanusi is not empowered to solve. Let me shock you, I was assisted today by him few minutes ago . At a school, I was appointed a governing chairman was reported for its hall roof blown off whereas, the hall will be a WAEC hall this month, Sanusi just approved fund for the rehabilitation”, Adurodekun concluded.
