As every eligible Nigerian across the country is set to exercise his/her civic responsibility on Saturday, February 25, the SDP Candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola has called on Security Agencies and Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to ensure that the polls are peaceful, fair and transparent in line with international best practices.
Mulikat Adeola made this appeal at her Ogbomoso country on Thursday, February 23, before she embarked on final rally preceding presidential and national assembly elections.
Ogbomoso-born politician stressed that, while it has become known that elections would hold on Saturday, February 25, it is now incumbent upon electoral umpire and security agencies to ensure that elections are peaceful, free, fair and transparent.
She said, these elections would be unique ones in the history of Nigeria, which would no doubt indicate emergence of candidates that enjoy the legitimate support of eligible voters.
The Ex Majority Leader of the House of Representatives however asked those pillars of democracy to act in line with objectivity, fairness and justice guiding the true conduct of civic exercise.
In another vein, Mulikat Adeola enjoined constituents across the thirteen(13) local governments making Oyo North Senatorial District to be peaceful and law abiding while exercising their voting rights.
Adding that, an act of thuggery, violence, lawlessness and other forms of dastardly acts cannot guarantee smooth, free and fair election.
She asked them to go to their respective polling units with readiness to exercise rights aimed at electing new leaders.
Mulikat Adeola however reiterated her commitment to effective representation which she promised would birth good governance for the betterment of all and sundry across the senatorial district.
