Onlookers smiled as former Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Monsurat Sunmonu and former Chairman, Iseyin Local Government, Alhaji(Hon.) Saheed Yussuf Alaran embraced each other with enthusiasm.
This development happened on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Iseyin District Grammar School(IDGS) where there were creme de la creme in attendance over the final burial programme of the late monarch, the Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba(Dr) Abdul Ganiyu Adekunle Salaudeen Ajinese 1.
The two political titans were not on same seating arrangement but upon sighted each other, the duo stood up immediately and embraced each other warmly.
Naijatodaynew.com learnt that the duo defected from APC to ADC pre-2019 general elections while they were aggrieved with late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
They were part of active gladiators who formed alliance with PDP, which eventually culminated into emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde.
But at the moment, only Monsurat is in PDP as her biological son, Barrister Ashamu is the current Commissioner for Energy, while the former speaker herself is also a member of Governing Advisory Council(GAC) to Makinde, but Alaran has jettisoned the conservative party on reasons which can’t be substantiated as at the time of filing this report.
Earlier, Alaran had described late Oba Ajinese 1 as a monarch whose tenure recorded monumental and unique development across Iseyinland.
The Ex-Iseyin council boss maintained that he would be sorely missed on areas of wise counsel, charismatic leadership, love and passion for the development of all and sundry.
On selection of new monarch, he enjoined the kingmakers to be meticulous, and should give consideration for merit, charisma, selfless service and people’s admired personality among other notable criteria.
