The Executive Chairman of Egbeda LG, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele was among the special guests of honour at the occasion of Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Egbeda unit Command where they flagged off 2021 Ember Month Road Safety with the theme” Maintain Safe Speed, Avoid Night Traveling and Enjoy Quality Road Experience”.
According to Egbeda unit Commander, Mr. Akeem Kareem, reiterated the fact that Ember Month is an annual tradition that is as old as corps and it’s being celebrated corps wide during the last four months of the year i.e from September cross December.
While delivering his keynote speech, Hon. Sanda sufficed to point out that Ember Month’s period is as safe and free as other months of the year except for the fact that it is a yuletide and period characterized by heavy human and vehicular movement across the nation for the purpose of actualizing plans, aim and commitment always packaged towards this period.
The council boss urged the road users to always take precautionary and preventive measure to curtail any accident occurrence.
Earlier in his own remarks, the representative of State Commander of FRSC, Commander Morakinyo stated the notable cause of crash on our highway which include;
- Lack of full concentration
- Driving and riding under influence
- Impatience from motorist
- Inadequate maintenance
- Fatigue and boredom
- Dilapidated road
The chairman was accompanied by the Director of Admin. And General Services, Mr Olanrewaju Olatubosun, Leader of the house Egbeda LG, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple,Hon. Kolawole Arowolo Councilor Rep. Ward 09, Hon. Olakanmi Olusola (Ward 11) and Hon. Joel Tunde (Ward 03).
