The federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), has felicitated with teachers across the country on the occasion of the 2026 Teachers’ Day celebration, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the development of individuals and society.
Oyekunle described teachers as critical nation-builders whose dedication, discipline and commitment to the teaching profession continue to shape the lives and future of generations.
He noted that many of the achievements recorded by individuals in different fields could be traced to the sacrifices and guidance of teachers who laid the foundation for their success.
According to him, “It was their insatiable passion for teaching and uncompromising ethics as teachers that shaped us into what we are today.”
The lawmaker commended teachers for their patience, resilience and unwavering commitment to educating young Nigerians despite the challenges confronting the profession.
Oyekunle further called for greater recognition and improved welfare for teachers, stressing that investing in educators remains a direct investment in the future of the nation.
He wished teachers across Ibadan North, Oyo State and Nigeria a fulfilling Teachers’ Day celebration, assuring them of his continued support and advocacy for initiatives that promote quality education and better opportunities for educators and learners.
