woos Ibadan groups, pledges buses, Mecca slots, and increased constituency interventions ahead of 2027 elections
The senatorial ambition of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni, received a major boost on Wednesday as leaders of prominent security and socio-cultural organisations in Ibadan declared their unflinching support for his candidacy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement came at the Ibadan Security Initiative Summit, Oyo State Chapter, a gathering that brought together traditional security outfits, cultural groups, and political stakeholders under one roof to deliberate on grassroots mobilisation and political alignment.
The event was attended by members of Governors of Security Initiatives, Soludero Hunters, Oodua Liberation Movement, OLM, Ifenifere Oodua, Agbekoya, OPC Ganni, and other affiliate groups, alongside members of the Remi Oseni Campaign Organisation Forum, ROCOF, from Ibadan North and South-West chapters.

In separate goodwill messages, leaders of the groups described Hon. Remi Oseni as a “tested, accessible, and development-driven lawmaker” whose representation has brought tangible dividends to the people of Oyo South.

The OPC Fasheun Governor commended Hon. Remi Oseni for his legislative performance and constituency impact, pledging the total support of his members for Oseni and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections. He also appealed to the candidate to provide operational buses for his group to facilitate attendance at political and community engagements.

Alhaji Jelili Agboola, a chieftain of the party, said the large turnout at the summit was evidence that the APC remains the party to beat in Oyo State. He urged members to protect their votes and work for the victory of all APC candidates.
Hon. Akeem Akogun Oosha praised the spirit of unity among the different factions, assuring Hon. Remi Oseni that the groups would deliver substantial votes for him at the polls. Chief MKO Olaoye also described the federal lawmaker as “the pillar holding the party together in the district.”

Responding, Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Abas Oseni expressed gratitude to God for the peaceful atmosphere and to the organisers for mobilising the crowd. He said he was overwhelmed by the show of support and expressed confidence that it would translate into electoral victory.
“I am one of your members. I have come to talk to you, and I am from Akufo,” Oseni declared, stressing that his desire to go to the Senate is borne out of a commitment to bring more opportunities and democratic dividends to the grassroots.
The lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa East federal constituency highlighted several of his interventions, including the establishment of companies that currently employ youths, facilitation of 32 out of 42 transformers requested by communities, construction of 5 schools, provision of boreholes, and distribution of 7,000 bags of fertiliser and farm machines.

He also disclosed that his office facilitated 1,300 JAMB forms and 1,200 WAEC forms for students, empowered 80 youths with ₦1 million each to start businesses, and provided grants worth millions of naira to market women across the senatorial district.
According to him, all the interventions were carried out in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We are doing all these because of the visionary leadership of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. I urge you all to support Mr. President, our APC candidates for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and our governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, so that Oyo State can benefit more from the centre,” he said.

In a bid to further galvanise the groups, Oseni announced a ₦20 million donation to support their activities. He also promised to present a branded bus to the leaders of the participating organisations within the following week.
Additionally, he pledged three more slots for Mecca pilgrimage sponsorship, bringing to over 13 the total number of constituents he has sponsored for the holy pilgrimage.
The senatorial hopeful assured the gathering that his doors would remain open to all who seek assistance, and urged members of the groups to channel requests for employment, education, and business support through their leaders for prompt attention.

He concluded by calling for “one million votes for President Bola Tinubu” in 2027, stating that massive support for APC at all levels would guarantee more federal projects for Oyo State.
The summit ended with the participating security and socio-cultural organisations reaffirming their commitment to mobilise members for Oseni, President Tinubu, and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Dignitaries at the event included Dr. Fashola, Comrade Ademola Onoolapo, Bankole Apabieshin, Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, Hon. Alhaji Jelili Agboola, Hon. Akeem Akogun Oosha, Chief Adekoye, Babaloja of Agbeni Market, Chief Ganiyu Lateef, Hon. Princess Taiwo Adetunji, Hon. Segun Ajanaku, and many others.
