The Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, and Governor of Oyo State, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, has appointed Barrister Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Thursday in a press statement signed by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor of Oyo State. Further announcements on the composition of the presidential campaign team are expected in the coming days.
According to the statement, Governor Makinde said the appointment of Barrister Ehilebo is strategic and timely as the party intensifies preparations to prosecute a robust, technology-driven and message-focused campaign across the country.
Describing Ehilebo as a communication strategist of “unmatched expertise” and a lawyer with proven capacity, Makinde said his new appointee will be a powerful asset in driving the APM’s national message of “Resetting Nigeria” and in mobilising support for the party’s victory in the 2027 presidential election.
“Barrister Anthony Ehilebo brings to this role a rare blend of legal acumen, media expertise, and digital innovation. His appointment is central to our objective of communicating the APM’s vision clearly, engaging Nigerians directly, and winning their confidence for the task ahead,” the statement quoted Makinde as saying.

The APM Presidential Candidate used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to stand firm and rally behind the party, declaring that the 2027 election represents a historic opportunity to rescue the country from what he described as the “failed leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.”
He argued that after years of economic hardship, insecurity, and policy inconsistencies, Nigerians deserve a government that is responsive, accountable, and people-centered.
“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve. The APM offers Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, inclusion, and performance,” Makinde affirmed.
The appointment signals the APM’s intention to run a modern, digitally-savvy campaign ahead of 2027. Barrister Ehilebo, a lawyer and communication expert, is expected to coordinate the party’s media strategy, digital outreach, and engagement with the electorate across traditional and new media platforms.
The APM, which has been positioning itself as a progressive alternative ahead of the next electoral cycle, is expected to unveil more members of its presidential campaign structure in the coming weeks as INEC’s timetable for political activities draws closer.
