The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Dr. Engr. Aderemi Abass Oseni intensified his grassroots campaign on Tuesday with a major empowerment engagement at Ogunpa Market, Ibadan, where he promised 200 solar-powered street lights, 5 solar-powered boreholes, and a ₦50,000,000 business grant for traders.
The meeting with the Ogunpa Alliance Group, a coalition of 15 major business associations including radio dealers, shoe sellers, textile traders, tyre dealers, and petty traders, also doubled as a political mobilization drive for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Leaders of the Ogunpa Alliance commended Hon. Remi Oseni for what they described as “unmatched market-friendly representation” of Ido and Ibarapa East Federal Constituency.
They described him as a leader who understands the struggles of petty traders and small business owners, and appealed for urgent intervention in potable water supply, solar-powered lighting, and business empowerment to boost commerce and security in the market.

Responding, Hon. Oseni said his commitment to traders stems from his personal experience.

“I remain committed to the welfare of petty business owners because I have walked that path. I know what it means to struggle and to build from the ground up,” he said.
He then used the platform to garner massive support for President Tinubu, declaring that 2027 would be a walkover for the President based on his performance over the last three years.
Hon. Remi Oseni, who chairs the House Committee on FERMA and leads the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF), told the traders that the Renewed Hope Agenda is already delivering results and deserves consolidation.
He cited key achievements of the Tinubu administration like the removal of fuel subsidy and unification of exchange rates, which he described as “bold, courageous, and inevitable” decisions that have stopped fuel queues and increased allocations to states and LGs. His Legacy Infrastructure: audacious projects including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, and Ibadan-Ilesha-Akure-Benin Highway, which are of international standard and creating jobs for youths.
Also in Social Investment, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has opened access to higher education for thousands of students from low-income backgrounds, and agricultural interventions supporting farmers. In Global Recognition, reforms that have earned Nigeria commendation from the World Bank as a “global reference point for credible and steady reforms”.
“Reform is never easy. It demands courage and patience. But what we are witnessing today are the early gains of bold decisions taken in the national interest,” Oseni said.
He argued that a single term cannot correct past mistakes and the nation’s imbalance, hence the need for President Tinubu to be re-elected to continue his good work.
The lawmaker also pledged to deliver one million votes for President Tinubu in Oyo State and is mobilizing 10 million votes from the South-West through ROCOF. He dismissed opposition coalitions as “noisemakers” incapable of stopping Tinubu’s return in 2027.
Addressing the specific requests of Ogunpa traders, Hon. Remi Oseni announced:

Party leaders described the event as further proof that APC is reconnecting with the grassroots and preparing to reclaim Oyo State in 2027.
As APC Senatorial Candidate for Oyo South, Hon. Aderemi Abass Oseni said synergy between the state and the APC-led Federal Government is key to unlocking more democratic dividends for Oyo.
He urged traditional rulers, stakeholders, and Nigerians to support Tinubu in 2027 so that more dividends of democracy can continue to be felt across the country. 6960
