Pensioners 106.7FM, Ibadan, has appointed veteran broadcaster, Mr Ademola Adeniyi, as its new General Manager.
The appointment was approved by the station’s Governing Board and takes effect from Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
In a statement issued by the management, the station described Adeniyi as a seasoned broadcast professional with more than 40 years of experience across the public and private broadcasting sectors.
Before his appointment, he served as Director of Programmes at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS). He also made history as the pioneer General Manager of Parrot 101.1FM, Ogbomoso, where he was credited with making significant contributions to the growth and development of radio broadcasting.
The appointment was conveyed in an official letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Pensioners 106.7FM as well as State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan.
Adeniyi succeeds Mr Babatunde Tiamiyu, who voluntarily resigned from the position. His resignation became effective on July 1, 2026.
The board expressed confidence in the new General Manager’s leadership abilities, industry experience and professional competence, noting that his appointment would strengthen the station’s vision of delivering quality broadcasting, promoting professionalism and advancing the ideals of Pensioners 106.7FM, popularly known as “The Voice of Liberation.”
The management, board, staff and stakeholders of the station congratulated Adeniyi on his appointment and wished him a successful and impactful tenure as General Manager.
