IBADAN, Oyo State – Otunba Oluseye Nathaniel Oladosu Opatoki, former People’s Democratic Party PDP Governorship Aspirant in Oyo State for the 2027 election, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Engr. Muftau Open Salawu on his emergence as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the PDP-APM Coalition and running mate to Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi.
In a signed congratulatory message made available to newsmen, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki described the development as a strategic and timely decision that reflects the coalition’s commitment to presenting a leadership team grounded in competence, experience, and people-oriented service.
According to the Ibadan-born politician and grassroots mobilizer, the emergence of Engr. Open Salawu comes at a crucial moment in Oyo State’s political history when issues of governance, infrastructure renewal, inclusive development, and democratic consolidation require leaders with proven capacity and strategic foresight.
“Engr. Muftau Open Salawu is a well-respected technocrat whose background in engineering and public service speaks to discipline, results, and integrity. His nomination as deputy governorship candidate is not only well deserved but also a demonstration of the coalition’s resolve to build a formidable, capable, and forward-looking leadership team for the people of Oyo State,” Otunba Opatoki stated.
He added that the Bimbo Adekanbi–Muftau Salawu ticket represents a balanced blend of political experience and technical expertise, a combination he believes will strengthen the coalition’s grassroots appeal and inspire broader support across the 33 local government areas and 351 wards of the state.
Otunba Oluseye Opatoki commended the leadership of the PDP-APM Coalition for concluding decisively on the running mate position ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election. He noted that such clarity and unity within the coalition send a strong signal to party faithful, stakeholders, and the electorate that the alliance is focused on issue-based politics and sustainable development.
