IBADAN, Oyo State — As Oyo State marks the birthday anniversary of its First Lady, the wife of the Governor, Engr. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, Otunba Oluseye Nathaniel Oladosu Opatoki, a respected 2027 governorship aspirant in the state, has extended heartfelt congratulations to her, describing her as a motherly pillar, a compassionate leader, and a consistent force behind the developmental strides of the present administration since 2019.
In a comprehensive goodwill message personally signed by him, Otunba Opatoki extolled the virtues of the First Lady, noting that her unwavering support for her husband, Governor Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE, and her dedication to children, women, and vulnerable groups have earned her admiration across Oyo State and beyond.
Otunba Opatoki opened his congratulatory message by acknowledging the significance of the day, stating that the celebration of Engr. Tamunominini Makinde is not just a birthday, but a celebration of purpose, grace, and selfless service to humanity.
“Today is a day to honour a woman whose life has become a reference point for compassion, motherly care, and steadfast support for good governance. Since 2019 till date, Her Excellency, Engr. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, has stood as a dependable partner to her husband, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE, while carving a unique identity through her direct impact on the lives of Oyo children, women, and families,” he stated.
The governorship aspirant particularly highlighted the First Lady’s motherly role and her passionate advocacy for children’s welfare across the state. According to him, her interventions and initiatives have provided comfort, opportunities, and hope to countless young people.
“Her Excellency has consistently played a motherly role that transcends protocol. Through her support for children in Oyo State, she has shown that governance is not only about infrastructure, but also about nurturing the next generation with love, education, and care. Her commitment to child welfare has complemented the administration’s efforts in education and social development,” Otunba Opatoki said.
Since Governor Makinde assumed office in 2019, the First Lady has remained a quiet but powerful force behind the scenes, according to Otunba Opatoki. He commended her for complementing the administration’s vision through her calm disposition, strength of character, and passion for improving lives.
“Her support for her husband and the government he leads since 2019 till now has been remarkable. She has proven herself as more than a First Lady in title, but as a partner in progress whose dedication to humanitarian service, women empowerment, and community development aligns perfectly with the ‘Omituntun 2.0’ agenda,” he noted.
Otunba Opatoki further observed that the First Lady’s dedication has earned her widespread admiration, not only among political stakeholders but also among ordinary citizens who have directly benefited from her compassion.
“Her consistency in uplifting the less privileged, promoting family values, and supporting initiatives that advance the wellbeing of Oyo people has made her a source of inspiration. She represents the face of motherhood, leadership, and service that every society desires,” he added.
