IBADAN – The consensus candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement, APM, for Oyo Central Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, on Friday, May 22, 2026, paid a thank-you visit to the Executive Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Intra-Party Affairs, Hon. Busari Olayemi, in appreciation of his role in securing the consensus arrangement.


The meeting, held at Olayemi’s office in the State Secretariat, Governor’s Office, Ibadan, brought together party stakeholders, supporters, and leaders who witnessed the exchange of goodwill and a renewed commitment to unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.



Speaking during the visit, Amb. Olufemi Ajadi described Hon. Busari Olayemi as a dependable and forward-looking leader whose contributions have consistently advanced the interests of the party and individuals within it.
“Hon. Busari Olayemi is a true, genuine, and trustworthy trailblazer,” Amb. Ajadi said. “He is a leader who puts the progress of the party and the welfare of the people above personal interests. His role in this consensus process shows his commitment to peace, unity, and political stability in Oyo State.”
Amb. Olufemi Ajadi expressed gratitude to God, Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon . Busari Olayemi and all party leaders and supporters. He said the consensus process reflected a mature approach to internal democracy that would strengthen the coalition movement ahead of 2027.


Addressing the gathering, Ajadi reaffirmed his loyalty to the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District and pledged to deliver impactful representation if elected.
“I stand before you today with a clear promise. I will not disappoint the people of Oyo Central,” he stated. “My commitment is to facilitate meaningful projects, attract investments, and ensure that our senatorial district wears a new look. By the grace of God and with your support, Oyo Central will rank among the most progressive and developed senatorial districts in Oyo State, the South West, and Nigeria as a whole.”
He urged constituents to remain engaged and to hold him accountable to his promises, adding that his focus would be on infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, and agriculture.

Amb. Olufemi Ajadi also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his developmental strides across Oyo State.
“Governor Makinde’s leadership has set a benchmark for governance in Oyo State. The thousands of projects across infrastructure, health, education, and agribusiness speak for themselves. We in the coalition movement are inspired by this vision and will work to complement it for the benefit of our people,” he said.
In his response, Hon. Busari Olayemi thanked Ajadi for the visit and pledged the full support of his office and political structure toward Amb. Olufemi Ajadi’s victory and the success of other candidates under the coalition movement.
“I appreciate Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo for this visit and for recognizing the collective effort that made the consensus possible,” Hon. Olayemi said. “Our task now is to mobilize, unite, and work together to ensure victory for our candidates in 2027.”
He emphasized that unity among leaders and members remained the foundation for political success.
“We can only achieve our goals through genuine unity and prayer. The coalition between the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples’ Movement, PDP-APM, is built on a shared vision for Oyo State’s progress. Let us put aside differences and focus on what unites us,” he stated.
Hon. Busari Olayemi concluded by offering prayers for the success of all candidates in the PDP-APM coalition movement, noting that the alliance was positioned to deliver improved governance and representation to the people of Oyo State.
Party leaders and supporters present at the meeting expressed confidence that the collaboration between APM and PDP structures would strengthen the coalition’s chances in Oyo Central and across the state in 2027.
