IBADAN – The Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels & Sports Resorts and Baba Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief. Engr.(Dr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has called on All Progressives Congress, APC, members and supporters across Oyo South Senatorial District to unite behind Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni ahead of the party’s senatorial primary.
In a statement personally released on Monday morning, Chief Dotun Sanusi who is also the Okanlomo OODUA described TODAY as “very important for our future, our unity, and our collective progress,” and urged party faithful to turn out in large numbers to back Hon. Remi Oseni’s emergence as the APC candidate for Oyo South in today’s direct primary election.
“This is not just about politics; it is about choosing progress, visionary leadership, empowerment, and a brighter future for our people,” Chief. Dotun Sanusi said. “I passionately appeal to every committed member and supporter to come out in large numbers today and stand firmly behind our beloved leader, Honourable Remi Oseni.”
The Ilaji boss framed the contest as a defining moment for the district, arguing that Hon. Remi Oseni’s track record of service and commitment to empowerment made him the candidate best placed to advance the interests of Oyo South at the National Assembly. He stressed that the choice before the party was between rhetoric and proven antecedents, and urged members to prioritize continuity and results.
Chief. Dotun Sanusi emphasized the need for discipline and cohesion within the party, noting that a united front was essential to reclaiming and strengthening APC’s influence in the district.
“Let us come together with one voice, one purpose, and one heart to show our unwavering support,” he stated. “Your presence, your voice, and your commitment matter greatly at this crucial moment. Together, we can make history and strengthen the future of our great party.”
The statement appealed directly to loyal JDS APC members, grassroots mobilizers, and progressive-minded residents across the nine local government areas that make up Oyo South Senatorial District, urging them to set aside divisions and focus on the larger goal of securing victory in 2027.
Closing his message, Chief. Jubril Dotun Sanusi invoked a prayer for cohesion and success, saying: “May unity guide us, may victory be ours, and may progress never depart from Oyo South.”
The endorsement adds significant weight to Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni’s campaign, given Sanusi’s standing as a prominent political stakeholder, philanthropist, and traditional title holder in Ibadanland. Analysts say his intervention is likely to boost morale among party loyalists and consolidate support ahead of the primary.
Political observers note that Oyo South has become one of the most keenly watched senatorial contests in Oyo State, with APC leaders seeking to present a candidate capable of delivering both legislative impact and grassroots mobilization.
The primary is expected to draw a large turnout of party delegates and supporters, with the outcome seen as a test of the party’s internal unity heading into the 2027 general elections.
