Political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State gathered fresh momentum as former Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, reportedly believed to be the preferred successor of Governor Seyi Makinde, paid a strategic visit to the Chairman and CEO of Ilaji Sports and Resorts and Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Jubril Dotun Sanusi.
The visit, which has continued to spark conversations within political and grassroots circles across the state, is being widely interpreted as part of ongoing consultations and alliance-building ahead of the much-anticipated 2027 governorship race.
Hon. Adekanmbi, a respected technocrat and former finance commissioner under the administration of late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, was said to have visited Chief Sanusi to seek collaboration, political support, and strategic partnership as conversations around the future leadership of Oyo State continue to intensify.
Accompanying Adekanmbi during the high-level meeting was the Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Hon. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, who described the engagement as productive, progressive, and focused on the overall development and political stability of Oyo State.
