Ibadan, Oyo State — Sunday, April 26, 2026 – The Recreation Club Ground, Mokola, Ibadan came alive on Sunday as thousands of All Progressives Congress, APC, members and supporters converged in a massive show of strength ahead of the formal declaration of Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni for the Oyo South Senatorial District seat.
Hon. Oseni, who currently represents Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency and serves as Chairman, House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, is yet to address the crowd as of press time.
A sea of party faithful filled the expansive venue to capacity, with supporters spilling beyond the rows of white marquees erected across the field. Men, women, and youths turned out in APC-branded caps, Ankara, and traditional attire, waving party flags and banners bearing the lawmaker’s image. The atmosphere was charged with chants and music as supporters awaited his declaration.
The Recreation Club Ground was transformed into a political carnival. Dozens of white canopies provided shade for the thousands in attendance, while APC flags and insignia dotted the venue. Security was visibly tight, with operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and other agencies stationed at strategic points to maintain order as the crowd continued to swell.
Party leaders from Oyo State and across Nigeria were present at the event, underscoring the significance of Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni’s impending declaration for the 2027 senatorial race. The large turnout of stakeholders and grassroots mobilizers from the nine local government areas of Oyo South Senatorial District signaled strong early momentum for the APC in the zone.
As of this update, Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni has not yet mounted the podium to speak. The crowd remains expectant, with supporters recording the moment on their phones and chanting in anticipation of his declaration under the APC platform.
