Residents of Ayegun-Oleyo and surrounding communities in Oluyole local government area can now breathe a sigh of relief as Senator Dr. Yunus Akintunde has successfully facilitated the construction of the long-awaited road.
Prior to his election, Senator Akintunde, together with his friends, had reconstructed a kilometer of the bad portion of the road. Since his inauguration, he has lobbied tirelessly to secure federal government funding for the entire stretch of the road.
His efforts finally paid off when the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the contract on March 25, 2024, and the Ministry of Works awarded the contract to Messrs Xenon Ltd. on April 4, 2024.
Senator Akintunde expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, his colleagues, and friends for their support, acknowledging that he couldn’t have achieved this feat alone. He urged the community to cooperate with the contractors and assured them that the temporary inconvenience would be worth it in the end.
The Senator also promised that this was just the beginning, with many more long-lasting programs in the works for the benefit of his constituents
