The African Steward Advocacy, AFSTAD, has reposed its confidence in the 5th President of Senegal, Basirou Diomaye Faye.
In a congratulatory statement tripartitely signed by its global Co-ordinator, Ambassador Hammed Saheed Oloro and
Group’s Regional Co-ordinator for West Africa, Mr Isyaku Sabo, and group media officer, Olawale Kunle Ogunbusola, on Tuesday.
The group noted that the election success of Mr Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Sunday has shown the world that democracy is thriving in Africa, adding that his election is a rebirth of one of the African nationalists, Nelson Mandela, who ruled his country, South Africa after freedom from prison while demanding human rights freedom, good governance, against apartheid.
“For Senegalese to have preferred an activist who was still in prison against another candidate, indicates that Africa is growing democratically. No more room for totalitarianism
” We must reiterate here that your election is a reincarnation of our epitomic leader, Nelson Mandela, who equally ruled his country, South Africa, after freedom from prison”, the statement added.
While congratulating the forty-four (44) year old Senegalese President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the group urged his administration to make youth friendly and economic policies that will affect massive development of West Africa, and Africa as a whole.
Meanwhile, the African Stewardship Advocacy, AFSTAD, called its fuller support to enable regional growth in Africa, including extension of appointment to its members, if needs be, while no room be given to insurgencies, kidnapping, and banditry which is becoming a threat to growth and development of some countries in Africa.
Recall, Presidential election winning of Mr Bassirou Diomaye Faye, has ended the ruling of Mr Mackey Sall from 2012 until Sunday 24th March, 2024.
