Oyo state government has announced its readiness to repair seven armoured personnel carriers towards equipping the state security agencies.
The announcement came at an executive council media briefing held at the New Press Centre, Governor’s office, Secretariat, Ibadan Thursday evening.
Speaking, Commissioner for Justice, Abiodun Aikomo said the present led administration is aware of the essence of sustaining security of the state, noting the state will spend a sum of 184 million naira to the repair of seven armoured personnel carriers, with the initial fee of #100million and later the rest at the total rehabilitation of the carriers.
In his contribution, commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Musibau Babatunde noted that the Seyi Makinde led administration will support the state Police with accommodation, feeding and health insurance as it holds its Police game from between 25th February and March 5th at five sporting facilities including the Lekan Adamasingba Stadium, GolfClub, Recreation Club, Olubadan, and Ilaji Stadium for a worthwhile outing.
Meanwhile, the state will commence its second phase of Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery, SAFER, from next month, March.
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade made this known to state correspondent after Thursday’s Executive Council Meeting.
Oyelade noted that the state government recorded successes in its first SAFER programme as it has in no small positively affected health, food surplus and small scale business owners, pledging to make frantic effort to ensure more citizens are impacted.
