A former caretaker Chairman, Ibarapa Central of Oyo State, Hon. Sarafadeen Olaoniye Bibiire, has called the newly turbaned chief Imam of Idere to use his position to promote religious tolerance in Idere, Ibarapa and Oyo state as a whole.
Hon. Olaoniye, who is fondly called “Bibiire”, who was also the chief launcher at the turbaning event, during a telephone interview while congratulating the newly turbaned Imam on Thursday.
Bibiire who was represented at the event on 4th February this year by his brother, Prince Leye Olaoniye, presented reasonable cash towards building a central mosque at Idere.
Meanwhile, Hon.Bibiire warned every religious sector against religious intolerance, or messages of disunity and undue rivalry.
However, Bibiire while congratulating the new Chief Imam of Idere Land, Alhaji Abduljeleel Ajibade Yinusa, noted trust reposed in him by the likes of Alhaji Najeemdeen Afolabi as Naibul-Imam of Idere Land, Prince Alhaji Fadlulahi Olanrewaju, the Eketa Chief Imam of Idereland, Ustaz Najeemdeen Alawiye Ejerin Adini of Idereland, Fadilatul Sheikh Ashimiy Opeyemi Yusuf, mufassir of Idereland Ustaz Muili Ademola Usman Ajanasi of Idereland, has resulted in his ratification as the Idere Chief Imam, and must never be taken for granted.
“Now that the good people of Idere have put you forward, my admonition to all the religious leaders is to borrow a leaf from the past imam to promote peace and unity in idere especially in religious sector.”
“There should not be religious discrimination among other religion,as we first become a citizen of Idere before belonging to a religious group.”, he said.
Present at the event included Onidere of Idere,Oba kingsley Oyelami Onikola, Alhaja Wasilat Rántí Adedigba Nee Olaoniye, Alhaji (Prince)Muhammad Abiodun Alli, Alhaja Fasilat Olatoro Olarinde,Alhaji (Prince)Lawal Ramoni and other dignitaries.
