Oyo 2023 NNPP Gubernatorial Candidate, Chief Popoola Olukayode Joshua, POJ, has felicitated with Engineer Lasisi Adekunle Rafiu, JP, on the celebration of his 60th birthday and retirement from the Federal Civil Service, Ministry of Works.
Chief Olukayode who attended the birthday celebration and retirement program in the company of other men of timber and caliber showered encomium on engineer Rafiu for his dedication to work while in service and contribution to the development of society via his profession.
Speaking further at the event held at LECHATEU EVENT CENTER, Bodija Housing Corporation, Ibadan, chief Olukayode who doubles as the Mogaji Ojo Ewena Compound, Oke Ofa Babaasale, Ibadan enjoined Civil and public servants who are still active in the service to emulate the retired engineer, Rafiu, whom he described as a selfless person when it comes to rendering service to humanity.
Sharing working experience with engineer Rafiu, chief Olukayode said the just retired civil servant is a loyal man to the call and supported him during campaigns and electioneering process in the the last governorship election in Oyo state without demanding a bribe or other appreciation.
The Oyo 2023 NNPP Gubernatorial Candidate added that engineer Rafiu is a beneficiary of the immense grace of God judging by the great achievements God has helped him to attain in academics and public service, at a favorable age.
He noted that history would be kind to the retired engineer for using his position while in office as a means to serve his father’s land.
In his remarks, the celebrant, Engineer Lasisi Adekunle Rafiu, JP, described Chief Popoola Olukayode Joshua, FNSE, as an exemplary leader, a strategist, a bridge builder, a mentor who believes in the ability of his mentees; a passionate believer in greater Oyo state as well as an incurable optimist in the greatness of the Nigerian nation.
He, however, dedicated his 60th birthday and retirement celebration to God almighty and appreciated those who came from all works of life to celebrate with him.
In the same vein, Chief Popoola Olukayode Joshua, POJ, also attended the 70th birthday and presentation of books by Dr. Ayoyinka Babatunde held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo state.
At the event, POJ hailed Dr. Ayoyinka Babatunde for being one of the pillars the younger generation can rely on and for taking part in laying a solid foundation for the socio-political and economic development of the country.
Chief Popoola Olukayode proclaimed Dr. Babatunde a teacher, mentor, and role model who has been famously declared an elder state woman who is worthy of emulation by contemporary and future leaders.
The ace politician also described the celebrant as a good sister and a friend whom he fondly referred to as ‘Aunty Ayo.’
Chief Olukayode, therefore, prayed that God will grant the celebrant a long life, sound health, and outstanding success in his future endeavors and the quest for a more prosperous Nigeria.
