Three Oyo All Progressives Congress’ Senators including Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South), Abdulfatai Buhari (APC-Oyo North) and Yunus Akintunde (APC-Oyo Central) have been named Senate Committee Chairmen on INEC, Aviation and Environment respectively.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio made the announcement on Monday at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly,Abuja.
Alli and Akintunde, who are first term lawmakers are to oversee INEC and Environment Committees while Buhari, a third-term lawmaker over the Aviation Committee respectively.
Meanwhile, the Oyo South Senator, Sarafa Alli was also appointed the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs.
Alli in the past has served as Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Chief of Staff, Ibadan North Local Government Chairman and Chairman, Odu’a Investment Company Limited.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by his media spokesperson, Akeem Abass noted Senator Alli, being the former president of Omo Ajorosun Club in Ibadan, is a Senior Chief in Ibadanland holding the position of Maye Balogun of Ibadanland has continued to receive congratulatory messages from groups and prominent Nigerians immediately after the announcement due to his versatility and philanthropic nature.
The various congratulatory messages have described the appointment a well deserved to such an outstanding politician and a lawmaker.
The well wishers in their great number expressed confidence in Alli’s capabilities to lead the Committee and achieve unprecedented successes.
