A civil society group has called on the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde to give the Oyo Township roads a priority.
The agency through its chairperson,Omo Iya Kunmi Foundation made the call on Tuesday in Oyo Town.
Omo Iya kunmi noted that the state of the road construction in Oyo Town is alarming, lamented that the roads constructed in the area
easily reach a state of disrepair within three years, thereby subjecting residents to undue hardship and deaths.
The chairperson pointed that the contractors on Oyo-Ibadan Old Road, Fiditi-Ibadan, Ajayi Crowther University’s Road and Iseyin Road having abandoned the roads have hugely risked lives and properties of citizen in the area.
The Agency chair believes failure of the local chairmen to complement the effort of the governor is a concern that must be put into correction for more laudable performance of the governor the second term.
Meanwhile, Iya Kunmi called on concerned authorities and stakeholders to rise to action as only this would reduce everyday accident record in Oyo Town.
