2023 Polls: 800 Thousand PVCs Yet To Be Collected In Oyo — State REC Frowns At Voters Who Fail To Pick Theirs

The Independent electoral commission,Oyo state has frowned at voters who have failed to pick their permanent voter cards across its offices within the state

The resident electoral commissioner,Dr Adeniran Rahman Tella stated this at a stakeholder’s meeting over mock voters ‘ accreditation/verification exercise held at his office today; noting that 800 thousand PVCs are yet to be collected

Dr Tella added that the exercise slated ahead of the February 25th and March 11th general elections, holds this Saturday 4th February,2023 within twelve polling units in three of the Senatorial districts of the state for the functionality test of bimodal voters accreditation system (BVAs) machines for the elections, while the verifying districts include Oyo North, Oyo south and Oyo Central.

The affected local government include Akinyele ,Atiba, Iseyin, Ogbomoso North,Ibadan North and Ido at polling units Anglican primary school,Akingbile 1, Olugbode,St Michael Esiele, L.A primary school, Kabiyesi street, LA Demonstration,Oke Aanu Town Planning, Bling Centre, Methodist School(NTA)1, Oba Akinbiyi High School II, St. Peter secondary,School Apete, Open Space ,Ido Garage .

The Rec. stressed that the mock exercise will hold between 8 and 2.30pm , while voters at the areas are called for participation,adding registered who are yet to pick up their PVCs should do so before the extension deadline date.
In his remarks, Oyo state commissioner of police, CP Adebowale Williams, ably represented ,DCP, Garaba Ahmed called on party agents to educate their members ahead of the accreditation so as to engender tranquility and orderliness during the forthcoming elections.

The stakeholders’ meeting had in attendance, state director of National orientation Agency, IPAC, party chairmaen of ADC, ADP, APM, APP, NDLEA,Customs, Army among others.
